2. Of those listed, definitely Dylan.
But so many other singers have distinctive voices--Bruce Springsteen, Donald Fagen, Elton John, Rod Stewart (much as I dislike him, his voice is extremely distinctive), etc. And that's just the tip of the iceberg, and only in the classic rock/'60s and '70s genre.

3. Michael McDonald.
Dude's got a voice like a fog horn - cuts right through even when he sings backing vocals (a la Steely Dan and *gulp* Christopher Cross, etc.)

47. You need to watch "Yacht Rock"
Episode one is "What a Fool Believes" ...the REAL story behind the music.

4. I going to put in a good word for two more singers
One of whom is no longer with us.
First-Rodger Hodson fomerly of Supertramp. It was hard to confuse him with anyone else.
Second-Layne Staley of Alice in Chains (R.I.P.). Loved his voice.

27. Good Lord. I'm surprised to hear that name.
She had one hit song, years ago! I don't even think I was even in my teens when it came out.
Went on wikipedia to look her up. I didn't know she had died.. She was only 45 at the time. Sad.
That made me think of someone else, former Cars vocalist Benjamin Orr. He was 53 when he passed on.

I've got a weird range, I've got the higher tenor 2 range stuff, and I've got the deep low bass stuff... but I'm totally missing my baritone range. That's pretty weird.

That's also one of the many reasons why I prefer writing music to performing it...
