E-Mail Change: Has this Ever Happened to You?
Edited on Wed Sep-19-07 12:50 PM by Liberalynn
I recently switched ISP's and have been contacting the various sites that I visit and do business with.

There is one book club that I have been a member of for years, and have bought quite a number of books from. I long ago met my commitment to them.

I followed their instructions to the letter and successfully changed my e-mail on their website and my new one shows up as my login name, etc.

Yet for some unexplained reason they keep sending my newsletters to the old e-mail addy even though I changed the address two weeks ago. I have contacted them once by phone and three times by e-mail. They answered my first e-mail by saying well just change it on our site, which I clearly told them I already had. When I wrote back the second time explaining that, they sent me back my query with no answer, and just a generic, "please contact us again, if you have any further problems," line in the message.

On the phone, the contact person said she'd change it on their site, it already is changed on their site, that's not the problem, the e-mail is still going to the old box even though my current address is listed on my account, and she didn't seem to get that either.

So I sent a third e-mail. Now I think they are just ignoring me, because they haven't answered my thrid message at all which I sent them yesterday. Its not like I was rude either in the e-mail or by phone.

My old account is a Hotmail and I can still check it, but I eventually hope to phase it out entirely. Its a waste of time in my book to have to check two or three different e-mail accounts.

I sitll want the reminder from the club though of when I have to respond to whether I want the selections of the month sent to me or not. I don't want to end up having to pay for books I don't want, or to have them sent back. I don't want to drop the club but should I since they are obviously not very reponsive to paying customers at least on this level? To be fair, I 98 percent of the time I have gotten my books on time and orders filled correctly, and the other 2percent where they were wrong, they did respond and correct the order.

What can I do in this situation?

1. Personally, I'd call them one more time
And tell them I was going to drop them if they didn't fix it. Then I'd do it. I don't like dicking around with companies that are unresponsive.

2. I think that's a good idea to give them one last chance to fix it.
It seems like it would be to their benefit to send me the updated offers and newsletters, so I don't know why they are being so difficult about it.
