1. Is it just me
or does Gloria Allred seem like a bit of an opportunist? I don't know if I am reading her right, but she seems to align herself with these high profile cases. I have read her biography, by her daughter, which portrayed her as a crusader, but now Britney? It just seems like a bit much.

It's like calling Bush a "bit of an idiot".

3. I guess there is plenty of work among the coke-addled celebutantes
I know she represented Amber Frey (or was tangentially involved) in the Scott Peterson trial too...

I read somewhere that Dr. Ruth used to be like this; one person said that they saw her practically swing from a chandelier to get in a photo with a celeb once.

5. I doubt
Dr. Ruth could swing from a table lamp without a trampoline, but I get your drift.

Yeah, Allred "represented" Amber Frey. Why a witness in a trial needed legal representation was never made clear.

6. Yes, Allred is a total opportunist; however....
...if you're a witness in a trial, especially a key witness, it is ABSOLUTELY in your best interest to have an attorney.
