I'm so frustrated I could cry. While at the neighbor's waiting for the showing to be over
the realtor called. They cancelled. I should be thrilled that the house is clean but instead I am fucking pissed off beyond belief. Could they not have cancelled this morning before I worked my ass off? Or even yesterday when I did all the laundry and the floors? I am so sick of this, right now if the realtor dared to show his face I think I'd slap him. FUCK! :grr:

1. While you are still fresh from cleaning
Wanna come over and clean my house? I promise I won't cancel on ya.

:hide:

Seriously though, that sucks. But as you said, your place is clean and it won't be as much of a hassle next time.

4. If only your last statement was true.
It's a huge house and it takes approximately 48 hours to get to the point where it takes a day to clean. Vacuuming alone takes anywhere from half an hour to 45 minutes, I kid you not.

And I'd clean for you, for a reasonable fee :) I'm pretty good at it!

2. Wow? You cleaned your house for a showing? I'm speechless!!
Hubby and I were house hunting here in the Philadelphia area because of job relocation. Every single house was a pig sty! I mean, these people did not even bother to pick their dirty underwear off the floor! I have never been so damn disgusted in my life. Our realtor said that most people don't bother cleaning or doing anything special. I couldn't believe it! We busted ASS making our house spotless and even ensured that our lawn/landscaping was meticulous while ours was being sold. Even the house we ended up buying wasn't all that clean, but at least they didn't have clutter all over and we could walk through the house. I wish I could come buy your house or at least do a walkthrough so all the work wouldn't be in vain!

6. Awww, thanks!
I always clean, including washing all the floor and doing all the laundry. I have four bathrooms (not counting the one in the basement) and they are always spotless for showings. Sigh. People can be pigs, can't they? I'm not!

9. Four bathrooms? That's a lot.
Can you just keep a couple of them closed up so that they'll stay clean for showings?

13. I have tried that from time to time (the house has been on the market
for 18 months) but the kids always forget, and eventually I give up. I could perhaps become more proactive there. Good idea.

16. Just go to the store and get those big signs that say, CLOSED
Once you sell the house, turn them around to say OPEN!

7. I'm plenty sorry for myself, Peg!
I am actually shedding tears of anger. I feel like I'm cursed but of course that's rather melodramatic. :pals:

15. when we were selling our house last year
we had a family scheduled to visit fairly early on a Saturday morning. So, we cleaned up on Friday night, then did a quick tidy-up Saturday morning and left a few minutes before their scheduled appointment. We drove up the street and saw the realtor's car pull into our driveway. They immediately turned around and left, never even going into the house.

Supposedly, the wife didn't like the fact that our house was on a bit of a hill, so didn't even want to go in...
