Poll question: O.K. HGTV Design Star fans. Who Wins?
I've listed the 2 finalists and a few other options.

At the beginning, I wanted Adrianna and Kim was my second choice. I think that this year can't hold a candle to last, though. And you?

PEACE!

1. Very hard to choose
Todd and Kim would both be great hosts. I'm guessing they might both end up with shows.

I thought Kim's room was better just because it was a little "classier" but Todd has such a great style and he would be fun on a show.

I just can't decide!!!

4. For Me, it was close, but...
...the last 2 weeks I'd give Kim an edge in both the design and the presentation.

Last year I thought that David had an edge with design, but Alice had a clear edge in presentation. I voted for Alice but always expected David to win. ChicaAzul voted for David.

This year we're both voting for kim and think she'll win.

Thanx.

2. It's close, but I gotta go with Kim.
I really liked her penthouse suite. She seems completely at ease before the camera.

5. As Cynthia said about Alice last year,...
...I think that TV is Kim's medium!.

3. They make much of Kim not being....
formally trained....and she does so very well. Some folks seem to just
know how to make style work.

6. She Can Also...
...exceed the client's expectations very well.

She sure showed that in West Virginia!

14. For 2 weeks in a row...
...Kim was stronger on both design and presentation.

Cinches it for me.

8. Todd had been my favorite from the very beginning....
But last night, all I wanted to do was shout "Dude, grow up!" at the tv. His surfer boy style is getting old. Kim's design was beautiful. I found myself wanting to use the same colors and style in my living room.

15. My problem with Todd...
...was the immaturity, not the design.

9. Sparkle Josh was my pick from the beginning.
Edited on Mon Sep-10-07 09:24 AM by southpaw
I think he and Will worked amazingly well together.

Of the two remaining, I have to go with Kim. She has her weaknesses design wise, but her designs are more liveable than Todd's.

On another note, I'm not conviced of the 'reality' of any 'reality' show... this one being no exception. I'm not sure HGTV will follow last years winner, an attractive male with lots of muscles, with Todd, another attractive male with lots of muscles. For similar reasons, I felt that Josh "Sparkle" Johnson was doomed from the start because David Bromstad was stereotypically gay and so was Josh.

I feel that HGTV is going to avoid having the winners of the first two seasons be too similar, whether in race, gender, physical appearance or perceived sexual orientation.

Kim will win.

I could be wrong.

10. Kim, without a doubt. The other suite was not a luxury suite, rather some teenager's room
The children might stay in that room while the parents stay in Kim's suite next door, however ;)

its also a reflection of the immaturity I saw in Todd from the beginning.

11. Neither one of them is David Bromstead.
But I voted for Kim. Of the two of them, she actually has a little talent for the field. Todd makes interesting art projects, which is not the same thing as interior design.

13. Yeah... Todd's projects are 'nifty'
I really loved his individual challenge (the 'High Tide Barrell' room with the wave and the smashed up furniture.) As an art project, it was really cool. As an interior design project, it was shocking but impractical. (To his defense, that particular challenge was judged on looks, not functionality.)

He seems a one trick pony to me. Its all about surfing, skating, or the ocean. If there's no way to incorporate any of those, he'll pull out some wacky gimmick (like Wanyne Newton's spinning platform living room).

David has a true eye for design, and his Color Splash show is a really appropriate format for his strengths.

Still, I really hope that someone (maybe TLC) will bring us the Sparkle Josh Show.

18. Last Year, David Was No David Bromstead Either
I thought that Alice had it all over him in on screen presentation.

I think David is GREAT, though! He learned to be a terrific host and Danielle is the perfect assistant.
