Post your rock 'n roll trivia here.
She wrote that? He played guitar on that track? They sold more albums than Elvis? Etc.

I'll start. Credence Clearwater Revival had 5 songs go to #2, but never once had a song at #1.

8. I don't think of them as 'country'
KPIG plays 'em a lot, but, like KPIG, they're quite eclectic.

RIP, Country Dick. :patriot:

Note: The KPIG contingent at the World's Shortest Parade each July 4 in Aptos marches to "Happy Boy." :bounce:

24. Charles Manson wrote a song that the Beach Boys made their own and recorded
manson and his family were living with Dennis Wilson, the drummer for the Beach Boys. Manson wrote a song called "Cease to Exist", they turned around the lyrics and made it their own, calling it first "Cease to resist", then again changed the name to "Never Learn Not to Love"

Dennis was so afraid of manson and his family, that he moved out of his beautiful home at 14400 Sunset Dr., leaving the family to live in it.

25. Neil Young's Hearse was responsible for him becoming a member
of Buffalo Springfield.

When Stephen Stills was recruiting members for the new band, he hadn't given Neil Young any thought. But one day, he spotted a Hearse with Ontario license plates at an intersection in L.A., and knew it had to be Young, whom he had played with once, up in Canada. Stills made him the offer and we know the rest.

55. More Neil Young trivia
Neil Young's first tour bus was built in Druid Heights, Marin County, California. It was a massive elven dream machine festooned with teak siding, a roof-deck, and syrupy Art Nouveau appliqué. It was built in the same magical enclave that spawned the first hot tub in Marin County, built be Ed Stiles.

One time Stiles used a redwood industrial process tank and a modified flash boiler to construct a hot tub, now a crenellated ruin crumbling into the hillside behind his home. He opened it up to everyone at Druid Heights, and one day he came by to discover a nubile Judy Collins soaking away. "I thought of it as a good thing," he says with a smile. Another visitor was a local dentist who commissioned Stiles to build an improved model in his backyard, which is how the first full-time, filtered, self-regulating Marin County redwood hot tub was born. Stiles built about thirty tubs over the years, but when demand sky-rocketed after a 1971 Sunset magazine article appeared, he chose to retire. "I wasn't interested in it as a business. I thought tubbing was an important social phenomenon. When people get naked together, they no longer carry the pretensions of their careers or identities. It was a great equalizer."
