6. But she'll think you're asking her to marry you...
Edited on Thu Aug-30-07 02:54 PM by BurtWorm

The power Hitchcock had over her career is probably a very touchy subject with her. Everyone probably tries to ask her about that. I wonder if she felt that she'd been robbed of a life she was ambitious for. Did she want to be a great star on the order of a Brigitte Bardot or Liz Taylor? Did she ever think she could have been in that tier if not for Hitch's vengeance?

I don't blame you if that's too loaded a question to ask her. It would take some nerve to ask it. You wouldn't want her to react like Nora Desmond. "But I am a great star!" (She is, but it's based on so few roles.)

2. Just tell her that she is a wonderfully warm and caring
person, and that her work with Shangri-La and animals in general is absolutely the greatest, and that I hope she gives them all (the lions, the tigers, the bobcats and all!) big hugs and kisses from me and everyone else. :loveya:

5. Ask her how they filmed all the scenes in "The Birds"
with the birds attacking? Was it special effects? Camera angles?

That's still the scariest movie I've ever seen!

:)

8. Yep
I hear that to this day she's skittish around birds, esp. since one of them gashed her on the hand (or cheek, maybe).

Right along with "Why have you been married four times?"

17. I thought she had died.
Anyway we named our parakeet after her then she turned into a boy bird. Jeapordy was on one night when I was at the cage looking at said bird wondering what a good name would be when a question came on about Tippy H., so the name stuck. Now it's Tippy Tippy Tay after the line in the Dean Martin Song.

When the moon hits you eye like a big pizza pie
That's amore
When the world seems to shine like you've had too much wine
That's amore
Bells will ring ting-a-ling-a-ling, ting-a-ling-a-ling
And you'll sing "Vita bella"
Hearts will play tippy-tippy-tay, tippy-tippy-tay
Like a gay tarantella

Bodgea Bay, CA

I see it every now and then and the little general store sells "The Birds" stuff.

22. Well not a *major* Republican AFAIK
She gave $300 to a GOP congressman in her district in 2004. But that's the only contribution since 1978.
