I'm trying to type a test using microsoft word 2007 for Vista. For some reason every time hit enter instead of one space there is an additonal space put between the lines. Is there any way to tweek that?

4. It's that stupid embedded automatic formatting they put in there
There is a way to make it stop doing everything for you without your permisssion but it's hidden in the menu:

Go to:

--- Tools
--- Edit
--- Compatability

Check-box all the options that you want it to follow. On some things you may need to guess or not know what they are takling about so you may need to go in there more than once after seeing if the boxes you checked stopped it from doing what you don't want it to do.

I first off, checked all the boxes that start with the word "Suppress." They all applied to things I don't want it to automatically do for me.

When you exit out of WORD, it might or might not ask you a question like 'you have made changes to the global template, do you want to save changes?' or something like that. If you want it to remember the things you changed for all new documents, you say "YES."
