Jeez...I almost became a Ladybug murderer...

So this beeyouteeful Ladybug landed on me tonight, which is good luck, and I tried to get her to flit off of me, and D'oh, she landed in my Bloody Mary! I fished her out, and she stumbled around drunkenly for a bit and crawled into the wicker chair. I was worried that she would die, b/c that's bad luck, but lo and behold, I just saw her crawling around and hanging out on the wicker chair. I think she's still drying out her wings.

Whew! :D

beautiful and wonderful eaters of aphids. I'm glad that she made it. I sang that song to her, but she didn't want to budge. Musta been my red sweatshirt :)

6. I'm like Ted Bundy to Ladybugs

One year my dorm room became so infested that I had to walk around with a flashlight because thousands of ladybugs were covering my windows and lamps blocking out all light. If you squish them they leave a blue liquid that's hard to clean. I don't know if it's true but I've heard that killing them gives off a scent that attracts more. One person on my floor had a dirt devil she let everyone borrow and we sucked them all up.

Yeah, I'm gonna have enough bad luck to last a few lifetimes.

7. Those were probably not the "lucky" ladybugs.

The ones that swarm in houses are those Asian imports that have kind of taken over everyone's nooks and crannies when the weather turns cooler. At least I read or heard that somewhere.... :shrug:

8. Y'know, when ants get drunk... they can only turn left.

So they'll go around in circles. First time I saw it, I just thought maybe they were disoriented and following their own pheremone trail or something. A few years later I found out it's because they can only turn left when drunk. :)

And they don't even signal...
