Denizens of the Eastern Timezone; a question:
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 08:31 PM by eyepaddle
How the hell do you deal with all the TV being on so late--and still getting up and going to work at 8:00 am? I'm used to seeing things like "An all new Top Chef--tonight at 10:00!" and thinking alright, 9:00 looks good (the networks being to cheap to make promos for the Central--and presumably Mountain--time zones which actually tell you when things are going to be on in your market)

Catching the news or Jon Stewart at 10:00 still allows for eight hours of sleep and a chance to get up at 6:30 to make it to work by 8:00 am. I figured the work day stared at 9:00 around here, but as it turns out, nope y'all get up and start work at the same clock time as 'm used to. Are people in the ET just chronically a bit sleep deprived?

1. We adjust!
I'm usually up until 11-12, normally, some times later. I get up, during the school year, at 7-ish. It's worth it. :D

4. Sleep? What the hell is that?
There is no sleep in the Eastern Time Zone.

Remember, we own the city the NEVER sleeps!

9. Fair enough!
I am gonna crAsh HARD when I get home.

Believe it or not, a weeklong conference on Hazardous Material and Waste complete with 40 hours of training has worn me down.

Yup, believe it or not, I'm glad all I have to do tomorrow is drive!

8. I lived in Massachusetts for 4 years, and I never got used to this
And I spent the whole time un-recalculating the time on commercials. "11 o'clock is 10 o'clock in real time."

10. I was wondering how long it would take me to stop recalculating,
This whole week I can't figure ou when stuff is on--because the stuff is on when they say it is!

What the hell is THAT all about?

11. All I know is switching from Central to Eastern really sucks!
Basically I never see anything past 11:00. Some local stations show their news at 10:00, so I will watch that before hitting the sack.

I haven't seen Letterman in years, except every now and then on YouTube.

13. It's those seemingly minor things which
really make the lasting impression.

New York State will always remind me of wanting a nap. :)

15. Well, Jon Stewart is repeated the following day at 8 p.m.
The problem with that is that it conflicts with KO.

It's not difficult in the summer, but once school starts I have a hard time making it through the day without a nap.
