Top Chef tonight! Who will pack their knives and go?
Tonight's Quickfire involves a Gourmet Burger Challenge for Red Robin restaurant. The name of the guest judge is escaping me at the moment...

:hi:

So, who will be asked to pack their knives and go?

Though I only want him to go under the condition that his loss is catastrophic and utterly humiliating.

He's had some humiliating moments so far, but he hasn't learned yet why they were humiliating to him - he's still blaming tasters and judges.

I can't stand that pompous asshat.

2. Yeah, his complete lack of accountability is irritating...
I would love to see him have a catastrophic and humiliating loss :D

Then again, I'd like to see Howie stop sweating into the food too. :puke:

9. Sar-A so lucked out last week
She should have gone home 2 weeks ago instead of Joey. Sara just doesn't do anything signficant and it's been consistant like that week after week. Only reason she got to stay was because she lucked out on getting on a good team

12. Howie REALLY annoys me. Can't wait to see him leave.
what an obnoxious prick he is.

There were many times I thought he should've been asked to leave, but I suppose the producers/judges keep him on b/c he makes "good tv", being so controversial.

:eyes: That's bullshit, as far as I'm concerned. The guy can cook decently, but he has shown himself to be a complete asshole whenever he needs to work with other people....which is what's required to be a TOP CHEF.

Here's how I want to see it go down tonight: Hung and Howie on the same team (are they? do we know how the teams break down yet?). They fail miserably, and Howie throws Hung under the bus. Hung goes home, but Howie will go down next week, in all his sweaty glory. And smirky Sara won't be far behind.

20. On the opposite side - who's the BEST so far?
Edited on Wed Aug-15-07 11:38 AM by Richardo
I think CJ - he's versatile, he thinks ahead, can articulate his vision and is a team player.

And he cooks well.

He's the most Top Chef-y.

Runners up for me are:

Tre - I think he's got the talent for sure.
Dale - surprising of late, but not sure of leadership ability.

Also-rans:
Casey - hasn't shown us much, except with her green top last week. :D
Brian - one trick pony with the seafood.

44. Lightning hit our Dish receiver LAST WED of all days!
I haven't had T. V. since then. It fried most of our electronics, which we have been scrambling to replace. Dish won't be up until tomorrow.

Once I find reruns, no one will be able to move me from my spot until I have caught up! I haven't even gone to the Bravo website just because I don't want to know what I've missed.

Have fun without me tonight, but by the weekend I hope to be up to speed!

57. I'm thrilled with the outcome (spoilers)
Neither team got to show off their best, and I definitely don't think Brian would have deserved to go, as he seemed to have less than zero help out there, and some flustering is to be expected with someone totally new to hosting/managing. I'm curious as to how professional the server teams were for each group--lack of knives, dusty plates, etc. are in large part their responsibility.

Where Brian saved Casey from the food-embalming scent of vanilla candles. :D It was interesting that CJ and Brian specifically avoided the two things that rankled in the other team's presentation--the overuse of black and the scented candles.
