What are your favorite places to live in the US?
Here's my list:
  1. Berkeley, CA

  2. Madison, WI

  3. Sebastopol, CA

  4. Chicago, IL

  5. Portland, OR

  6. Boston, MA

  7. Seattle, WA

  8. Manhattan, NY

  9. Santa Fe, NM

  10. Boulder, CO
(honorable mention to Minneapolis, MN and Albuquerque, NM.)

I don't know what town though, I just want to live in the Blue Ridge, with my farm and my pet chickens and goats and stuff.. someday I will.
If I could afford to I'd keep a room in Manhattan at the same time. And while I'm at it an apartment in San Francisco.
This is my plan in case I someday find a million dollars or whatever.

Man do I miss the hills and its culture, although I do live in the urban appalachian babylon of the United States, Dayton, Ohio.

8. I would definitely agree with you on Boulder, CO
What a beautiful town! I haven't been to any other on your list except Manhattan and not being a big city person I wouldn't have it on my list.
I might add Athens, GA though..seems like a nice little college town. And Savannah is a nice place too.

Just visited San Francisco for the first time, and all the hype doesn't do it justice. One of the most beautiful cities I have ever visited.

Sedona, Arizona, is absolutely breathtaking.

Berkeley, Calif.
San Francisco
Portland, Ore. (currently live here)
Cambridge, Mass.
Washington DC

I've also lived in Ohio and Colorado. Interesting experiences, but I'm not really cut out for those states.
