3. Hork = throw up
Edited on Wed Aug-08-07 01:27 PM by supernova
Ex. The cat horked up a hairball on my new Afghan carpet last night.

edit: I like it because it's one of those words that sounds like the action it describes. :D

5. Exactly the same as to barf, or not exactly the same?
When I reached university, I learned a new word meaning to puke: chunder. As in, I chundered up my vindaloo last night. It was that last pint, I tell you.

I eventually learned it was from sailors, who would call "watch under!" when somebody barfed over the rail.

As in, "The new cat errped up a worm and it's still moving." A direct quote from my kitten fostering days.

14. I guess it's the emphasis
on the heaving sounds one makes just before the act. x(

I never did know where chunder came from. But it makes sense, you wouldn't want to be leaning over a lower deck rail in that instance. :-)

8. It's not a real word
It's a misspelling of "hawk".

It's found in the Urban Dictionary, though (a site somewhat less reliable than Wikipedia, so YMMV)

30. I've always used "hork" as a way of saying "stealing"
or other shifty behavior.

for example: Republicans totally horked the last few elections.

I learned the word "spooge" during the Monica Lewinski episode. A friend kept talking about the blue dress with spooge on it. It was a new term to me at the time.
