Mr GoG was rough-housing with SonOfGoG the younger earlier...
and the little guy smacked his head behind and below his ear on the corner of his nightstand. Now he's got a nasty bump and a gash that's borderline stitch material. He didn't pass out...in fact he's still awake...and the cut isn't bleeding anymore. I did the wound cleansing/bandaging/antibiotic ointment thing, put an icepack on it, and gave him a small dose of kiddie-ibuprofin. If he's not better tomorrow, I'll take him to the doctor.

Mr GoG is hiding, because I'm pissed.

Poor kid. I don't know how much sleep I'll get tonight. :(

2. Me too!
Thanks!
I had to bite my cheeks to keep from crying and scaring him...

3. Super glue
Best stuff ever for borderline stitch material cuts that aren't in a place where they're going to be pulled open by movement.

Don't be mad at Mr GoG. This stuff happens, especially with boys. You'll hurt a kid a lot more by coddling him than with a little roughhousing and the resultant bumps and bruises.

4. I know it happens...
It just shouldn't happen right at bedtime, when the kid's supposed to be getting calm.

I wonder if superglue will hold it enough to make it ok for him to swim tomorrow. I don't want him getting an infection...especially since it's behind his ear.
