Lord and savior or a dirty dish?
A friend of mine just sent me some amazing pictures. She was offered the chance to display a truly miraculous dish at her work. There is even a website dedicated to the miracle.

Potato Jesus

"After eating my serving of potatoes I returned to the kitchen with the intention of washing the large bowl that was soaking in water in the sink and the plate that I had placed upside down on the counter top to cool. I washed the bowl first. Next I began to pick up the upside-down plate (which served as the lid for the oven bowl) with the intention of washing that also. Much to my surprise, I noticed that on the underside of the plate was an image about the size of a half-dollar that appeared to be the face of Christ. The image appeared to have a crown of thorns on the head. The right eye was particularly mesmerizing. A darker substance appeared to be flowing down from the crown area onto the forehead and flowed in an “upside-down Y” onto the forehead and around the eyebrows as well as around the entire left, right, and bottom portions of the head entirely encircling the image’s head and face including the bearded area. Upon showing the image to my husband, he noticed also a “cross on a hill” and a three-pointed “Star of Bethlehem” just above the image of the face."

2. I thought it was an English bulldog with a worse than normal underbite.
But then, what do I know?

3. I don't see it myself
Unless Jesus is traditionally featured after having been hit with a pie-in-the-face - was that part of the Passion?

I'm partial to Chocolate Mary.

AP: Aug 18, 2006

FOUNTAIN VALLEY, Calif. - As a chocolatier to the rich and famous, Martucci Angiano has posed with many celebrities — but on Thursday she held in her hand a figure that dazzles her more than any Hollywood star.

Workers at Angiano's gourmet chocolate company, Bodega Chocolates, discovered under a vat a 2-inch-tall column of chocolate drippings that they believe bears a striking resemblance to the Virgin Mary.

Since the discovery Monday, Angiano's employees have spent much of their time hovering over the tiny figure, praying and placing rose petals and candles around it.

I suspect that if Mary has been surrounded by burning candles for very long, she's looking pretty wilted by now.
