sniffa reviews: the honeymoon, day one (pic heavy)
yeah, so bi-baby i went on our honeymoon this weekend. we Left earLy friday morning for york beach, maine.

we stayed at the "anchorage inn" across the street from Long sands beach (aLso across the street from the "sun and surf" restaurant.. which is owned by the anchorage, and which wiLL be featured in day two).

here's the view from our hoteL room, which is aLso where the magic was made.

we hit the beach right away, and rented fun fLoats to ride the waves. bi-baby was way more coordinated than i on the fLoats, as i fLipped and crashed way too often. we aLso both got fucked up by the rocks at the bottom. (oww!!1!)

after showering, we went into york viLLage to find food. we settLed on gabby suLLivans which was quite good, both drink wise, and food wise. (for the descriptions of our food adventures, pLease see this thread: http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=236x35720 .... don't miss out on my bacon and cheddar wrapped hot dog)

here's me tasting and enjoying my dirty martini:

and here's bi-baby in front of her meaL and beer:

after dinnah, we perused the many shops, that soLd crappy stuff, where i found a toy Lobser:

after our perusaL of york viLLage we drove to the nubbLe Light house, which may just be my favorite spot i've ever been too:

the ocean just southeast of the Lighthouse.

the Lighthouse during sunset on 7/27/07:

after the Lighthouse, we drove another few hundred feet and stopped at "brown's oLd fashioned ice cream" which was f'n incredibLe.
best ice cream i may have ever had.

here's what the moon Looked Like our first night:

1. Wow! What a great looking place, sniffa!
I love the coast, but I've only seen the Pacific and the Gulf coasts. Guess I'll eventually have to get out to the Atlantic!

14. thank you
:loveya:

we Live a stone's throw from the antLantic ocean, but it's such a different worLd in a pLace Like york, maine than the urban, coastaL environment.

we were taLking this weekend of possibLy returning every year, and when we have kids, bring them too so they can have the same memories as i had growing up every summer with a week or two every summer in york.

Watching the waves crashing over the rocks after a spring nor'easter in 2005 was amazing. I love it there.

Edited to correct spelling.

40. I have been busy at work last week or two
and had no internet access at home--so that was it for evenings and weekends. Our plan was to upgrade to DSL from dial-up, but by week 3 of that frustrating "process" it became clear we were going to need a new computer. We got things up and running late last night and have entered the magical world of Vista cross-over.

Your daughter will be fine, but yes, you are supposed to be a wreck about it!
