Sweet happy stereo-hearing days are back :bounce:

I should submit the photo I took of this nasty-ass alien looking thing to the 'zen moment' photography contest

2. We've been candling in our house this week.
This allergy season has been awful and everyone here seems to have plugged ears.

4. that works?
the peroxide did in 5 minutes what debrox couldn't do in 4 days.

probably cheaper, too. for 99 cents you get about 600 doses

6. Sometimes it works.
The only problem with peroxide is that it can dry your ears out and really make them raw. I sometimes use olive oil-just a drop-and massage it in, then do the candling.

I don't add in the price of the oil since I always keep it around. I also use it for the removal of ticks.

24. careful though, ear candles are dangerous
and I know that the ENT doctors I work for consider them to be a scam. They recommend avoidance of Qtips inside the canals (it can actually impact the wax further). Peroxide is good for cleaning. White household vinegar is good for itching and mineral oil or "sweet oil" good for keeping the canals moist.

3. The ear doctor did that to me once
-only they used this cool vacuum tube thingie. The resulting mass was so large I asked them to examine it closely to make sure they had not removed my brain by mistake.

Although they said they were certain, I've always retained a small suspicion they were lying to me.

I do put peroxide in my ears from time to time but nothing ever really comes out.

I'm definitely thinking of ear candling.

26. pour a third of a capful into the cap
dump that in your ear, wiggle the bottom of your ear next to your skull around to work it in

when the bubbling has calmed down, tilt your head over to drain into a sink, then flush with a small flush bulb

38. water, warmish
more peroxide wouldn't be something i'd want to leave in there after i did flush anything out

it took about 4 cycles of peroxide, wait, empty, flush

40. You need to use water..
You don't flush once. It takes me about 20 flushes to start to get something to come out. It really helps to have someone else do it. I have used the bulb and stuff was still coming out after 30 minutes. That was just one ear. My doctor told me I have the worst ear wax he has ever seen. So YMMV.

36. A WATERPIK® also works well...
I have terrible ear wax. I WATERPIK® monthly and it does a pretty good job of cleaning things out. My doctor uses this big syringe with a scope to clean my ears when they get really bad. The little metal hook that some doctors use is incredibly painful.

My mom ALWAYS used peroxide (just the regular 3% kind) every day after swimming. Never got swimmers ear. Never got yellow waxy build-up.
