NJ Hikers Get Stuffing Scared Out of Them
Wayayanda State Forest, NJ - The New Jersey State Park Police, here in New Jersey's Wayayanda State Forest, received an emergency telephone call, last weekend, from a group of terrified hikers on a mountainside within the Sate Forest. The hikers reported that they were unable to proceed on the hiking trail that they had been traversing due to the presence of a mountain lion sleeping on the trail ahead of them.

A State Park Police official, who asked to remain anonymous, stated that three officers responded to the scene, which can only be accessed by foot, to find a life sized stuffed leopard had been placed on the trail by previous hikers.

The leopard offered no resistance when it was removed from the trail, and the police escorted the hikers off of the side of the mountain without further incident. No injuries were suffered, except, presumably, some injured pride.

1. LOL!
That's pretty funny! I'm surprised the hikers didn't figure it out eventually, but perhaps they had kids with them and got extra freaked. Excellent prankage...

4. Yeah. Well, if they thought it was asleep, I can see why they wouldn't approach, which
might wake it up. You know how grumpy some people/mountain lions are when they first wake up :)

7. The smart thing would be to keep one's distance, but my thinking is always
a bit off. After all, I'm the guy who convinced his wife to go up and nudge the great big 'dead' elephant seal. It wasn't...
