Why Do Movie Theaters Serve "Butter Flavoring" And Not Real Butter
First, what the hell is "butter flavoring" exactly? And, what's wrong with real melted butter? Is it that expensive? I pay $11 to see a movie in NYC, and at the very least, they could offer real melted butter.

1. its all about the money
real butter is more expensive than the flavored vegetable oil they use. And it isnt a liquid at room temperature, making it harder to put on the popcorn with those pumps.

3. The pumps are heated..
It does take about 15 minutes for the "butter flavoring" to get clear. It is really cloudy at room temperature, but it will pour and can go through the pump.

2. We have a couple in the DC area that serve real butter
the AFI theater in Silver Spring and I believe the Bethesda Landmark Theaters too. I'll bet you can find a few theaters in NYC that spring for real butter, you may have to pay $10.00 for that popcorn, but that's NYC for you........

5. You should feel lucky you get butter-flavored topping.
Our local theater doesn't even do that. The shit's DRY.

If I want dry popcorn that tastes like it came out of a bag, I'm not paying 7 bucks for it at the theater. I'd be willing to pay a premium price for good old-fashioned freshly popped buttered popcorn at the theater.

11. Butter requires refridgeration and is expensive
Buttr flavr is more stable and cheaper. Now I realize that you feel ripped off, but have you considered how fucking sick you would get if you were to eat real butter that has been stored and handled by the bunch of putzes down at the theater? Consider yourself lucky.

It's all fake - America loves fake and tasteless. Like Chi Chi's and Olive Garden and Outback and McDonald's. And Shrubby. Fake and tasteless.

Bunch of ignorant, ignoble pieces of shit.
