DU Texans - What was Lady Bird Johnson like?
Screw the official stories - do you guys have any personal stories of the woman?

From what I heard it was hard to miss her if you lived in Texas.

RIP LadyBird

1. I only saw her once, years ago.
We took the LBJ Ranch tour, and Mrs. Johnson waved at our tour bus.

I've talked to people that knew her, and they say she was always sweet to them.

May she rest in peace.

2. She was responsible for the flowers we have along the roadside...
...each Spring. I always think of her, and probably always will, when I see them bloom.

No one appreciates flowers more than Lady Bird Johnson, wife of former President Lyndon B. Johnson. Mrs. Johnson is fond of saying, "Where flowers bloom, so does hope." And for more than 30 years, Mrs. Johnson has contributed to spreading hope and beautifying America by promoting the use of wildflowers along the highways of the nation.
