Man, today the world is getting me down.
Does today seems extra brutal and inhumane than usual? :(

It sure feels like it.

Anyone have a hug to give out?

2. I saw some amazing news yesterday.
The mayor of Salt Lake City banned bottled water at city events, said it was too environmentally destructive.

How about that? :grouphug:

3. the energy is funky

I think we are in different parts of the country, but it seems strange. I have read 4 crime books in a row and am getting ready to start "Green River, Running Red" later this evening though so I'm kind of down on the human race in general.

In other news it is raining really, really hard while the sun is shining for the second time today. We had a backwards storm here earlier....I was sitting here and I thought I saw smoke outside and it was rain and it rained sideways for like ten minutes, with the wind blowing really hard. Then, after it rained, the clouds came in and the thunder started. It was the most bizarre thing. Right now the sun is shining really brightly and it is pouring outside. Bet there is a rainbow somewhere. Ava's thread with the Bob Marley song cheered me up a bit.

Hugs for you:

7. wow, it was until yesterday.
Mercury retrograde
June 16 - July 10, 2007
Here we go again... Mercury goes retrograde once again. It happens 3 times a year and it lasts for about 3 weeks. This time is from June 16 to July 10, 2007. Next, from October 11 to November 1, 2007. And then from January 28 to February 18, 2008.

This is an important period, and we should be aware of the effects associated with this astrological influence. Since it is so often, we must learn what it means and how to take advantage of it.

So I guess we are having whiplash, lol. This is one of the first mercury retrogrades that has passed that I didn't know about. Usually they really wear on me because I'm a Virgo but these last couple of months have been really nice and full of positive stuff for me personally. Strange.

15. I hope things do improve for you soon, CP
I know how emotionally exhausting those plant environments can be; most of the supervisors have very few people skills.

I can't believe I made it through another retrograde and didn't even notice...it seems like we just had one and I guess that was around Feb. or March.

18. Thank you idgiehkt :)
I ended up taking 3 days off this week because I can't bare to be there ... and yes they have very few people skills. I just closed myself in a box to the people who give me problems and I just ignore them and I smile and laugh with the people who are actually good.

14. You Must Be A Gemini, Like Me.
I get screwy when Mercury is in retrograde, too. I'm in fact a double Gemini...both my Sun and Moon sign happen to be Gemini.

16. I didn't know Gemini's have trouble with them too.
I can empathize. With Virgos it's because Mercury is already our ruling planet, so it's like double jeopardy. I think this is the first time in ages that I've found out about one after it passed. Usually I can totally feeeeeeeeeeel it, lol.

17. Mercury is the Ruling Planet of Gemini's
i had no idea Virgo's were also affected in this manner by Mercury.

As I said, in my case, both my sun and moon sign is Gemini...making me a double Gemini so I get really loopy when Mercury is in retrograde.

I have a computer program that can plot your star chart, so that you can determine your moon sign. Moon signs change every couple of days, so, simply the month and day of your birth does not suffice to determine one's moon sign.

To do that, you need month, date, year of birth...place of birth, and time of birth. Until I ran my own chart I'd never actually known I was a double Gemini.

These fine people are having fun with their hole. You could learn a lot from them. We all could.

Maybe we have to keep reminding ourselves to make this a better world in whatever way we have within our power.

But in the meantime, do something nice for yourself and...

21. Go "Up on the Roof."

Carole king (attributed to james taylor...)

When this old world starts a getting me down
And people are just too much for me to face
Ill climb way up to the top of the stairs
And all my cares just drift right into space

On the roof, its peaceful as can be
And there the world below dont bother me, no, no

So when I come home feeling tired and beat
Ill go up where the air is fresh and sweet
Ill get far away from the hustling crowd
And all the rat-race noise down in the street

On the roof, thats the only place I know
Look at the city, baby
Where you just have to wish to make it so
Lets go up on the roof

And at night the stars they put on a show for free
And, darling, you can share it all with me
Thats what I said
Keep on telling you

That right smack dab in the middle of town
I found a paradise thats troubleproof
And if this old world starts a getting you down
Theres room enough for two
Up on the roof...
