4. Nobody will pick "slotted"
They suck. How many times have you had the blade slip out of the screw, and scratch the finished surface?

Oh, Christ, I'm channeling Bob Vila!

6. I thought that was Bob Vila!
Mrs. Amok bought me a set of those Craftsman stripped-screw removers because Bob Vila endorsed them.

They are the best invention ever.

I've become my own version of that bad Kerry joke.

"I had no idea Kerry was in the military."
"I had no idea Robb lived in the freakin' stratosphere." ;)

12. The Allen Wrench
Yeah, it's called a wrench, but it isn't a wrench, and they're used for driving screws

Also the Torx

And that extra-special screwdriver that's needed to drive the unique screws that nintendo uses.

18. I'm glad you asked this question, HEy
The Phillips screw is the ABSOLUTE WORST EXAMPLE of AMERICAN IMPERIALISM to ever be foisted upon the innocent world!! Those damn things won't hold on to the driver, get stripped so fucking easily, I HATE THEM I HATE THEM I HATE THEM! I only use Robertsons if I can help it. The deck, shed, and fence I've done the past couple of years have only Robs in them; not even a nail.

Robertsons are the greatest invention in history, Phillipses one of the worst.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity for this rant.

23. Square socket head screws
Driver head won't hop out, very rarely strips, and if it does you can still back it out. You can stick a screw on the driver and it won't fall off. It's really big in Canada, in fact, Philips screws can be hard to find here, everything is Robertson, except for wallboard screws. Robertson wallboard screws grip so tight that it's too easy to go in too far, so they stopped selling them.
