Anyone watch "Good night, and Good Luck" ?
They just don't make 'em like Ed Murrow anymore.

Strathairn was fantastic, and Clooney wasn't bad either.
Elfrangel watched it also, but I think the historical significance was lost on her.

docu-movies.. then you'll like it.

Then you'll remember that Katie Couric is on the CBS Evening news... and you'll lament how far CBS has fallen.

14. Exactly

I have to admit, my lungs always feel tight after watching the movie or even seeing pics like this. I read something about how Hollywood has to watch what it does with smoking images now unless they are correct historically, which is why this was OK. To me, that is too much political correctness, even if I am uncomfortable a bit over smoking, yet violence is so OK. But it is what it is and go figure.

And yes, I like Keith R. Murrow or Edward R. Olbermann these days. Katie Couric belongs on Entertainment Tonight, but sadly, so does most of the MSM except Keith.

George Clooney deserved an award for the screenplay and was robbed.

2. Incredible movie! Saw it in the theater, and now I have the DVD.
I think Olbermann is the closest thing to Murrow we have today.

5. Probably so.
I've rented it a couple times. I was really wanting to see it the other night, so I downloaded it off Bittorrent and watched it again.

6. Brilliant movie
George Clooney is God. If I wasn't straigt I'd be in love with him. Edward R. Murrow would have taken a flamethrower to FOXNEWS studios.

13. Holy crap, you have to see it!
Came out in 1976, and for some stupid reason, lost the Oscar to Rocky. But it did win Oscars for acting and writing, and -- film nerd trivia -- the Best Supporting Actress winner, Beatrice Straight, is only onscreen for five minutes. Also, Peter Finch is the only person to win Best Actor posthumously.
