Funny or weird names of people in your high school...
We had a Paul Gasser. Nobody ever seemed to know him, we would only read his name from time to time in the school paper.

5. No, he didn't.....and he wasn't a very nice guy ( I can understand that )
probably given all that he has been through with a name like that.....but I never had serious problems with the guy....he was just a hard-ass........whoops!

I meant that he was a bit harsh and foreboding at times is all

Which constitutes some major parental cruelty, by my reckoning.

6. Not my school, but my sweetie has...
...a commemorative mug with all the names of her graduating class,
and she went to school with "Hans Huang". That's certainly an
unusual mix of culturally-identifiable monikers!

Maybe I should RETRACT the "not my school" comment...
Now that I think about it, I know about 150 folks who went to a
rural public school alongside a fellow with the unfortunate name
of "Richard Steele", "Dick" for short.

But there's certainly NOTHING funny about that!

17. Related subject, not school related . . .
But I knew a guy, a client, a pain in the ass, named Richard Holder and he went by Richard for obvious reasons. When I would call his I wouldn't ask for Richard, or Mr. Holder, I would always say "may I speak with dickholder please?" I hated talking to him, but I loved calling his office!

7. Science teacher named Philo Farnsworth.
Yes, that Philo Farnsworth, though we didn't know it at the time--just thought his name was funny. Nice guy, too--very smart and seemingly not embittered about the raw deal he got. :toast:

19. OK here's one.
I had a student last year, a girl, named Arsine (pronounced ARE-suh-nay, its Armenian). Anyway, arsine (pronounced are-seen) is a poisonous gas, related to arsenic! Most people don't know how to pronounce Armenian names the first time they see them so she got called poisonous gas quite often.
