2. i had a cat i thought was possessed once
or something back when i actually thought there might be such a thing

he would stalk me down the hall attacking my ankles. i'd tell him to stop and he'd back off and then he'd come back and swat at my ankles :grr: when i'd say "no" he'd get really big pupils and look like he wanted to kick my butt.

I finally drove those demons out of him

He was a good cat after that :D

i know that's hard to imagine, me, SPK, kinda nuts

but it's true

I also had just read the "Cross and the Switchblade" for some reason and that convinced me that not only was my cat possessed but that I could bring those demons out of him.

Luckily I'm much saner now :silly:

8. Oh. My. God.
(Where to start with that post?)

1) You WERE nuts? (You mean, more than NOW? )

2) "Cross and the Switchblade" ......... I not only read it. I went to a "revival" where the guy who wrote it was the "preacher". Ah the intensity of youth. He really had me going there. Until afterwards, some girl started "speaking in tongues" and rolling around on the floor. It kinda broke the mood, if you know what I mean.

3) You? Sane? Now?

naaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhh..........

:pals:

13. Caesar
Caesar was a Siamese, and very, very vocal. He never shut up. He also had a taste, literally, for eating anything or everything that wasn't food. He'd munch on wool, phone wires, stuffed animals, socks--almost anything. He was also pretty randy "in the sack." Since I was a little too young to determine his gender status, he was allowed to breed, and made full use of his little cajones.

My dad finally took Caesar's fortune into his hands, and Caesar "disappeared" from my life.

14. A Siamese/Russian Blue cross.
He was insane. He shredded everything in sight, peed in my closet, and would go out on the roof and refuse to come in. I can't even remember his name. He is long gone.

She was really cute, but if she was mad she would pee.

On your stuff. On you.

Not cool.

Siamese, natch.

And the biggest thing that made her mad? Being touched.

Being looked at was a close second, though. :P

18. EVIL DEVIL CAT... RUN!!!!!
My aunt ran a kennel and grooming shop for a number of years, and on one occasion she called me to tell me that a first-time client had abandoned their precious long-haired cat there a few weeks before. The finally managed to contact the owners, who told them flatly to "keep the damned cat"., so she called me to see if i wanted to adopt him.

I showed up to pick him up, and there was the caterwauling like a dozen tormented souls coming from the cardboard cat carrier. I could hear the little darling clawing and frantically scratching at the sides and the air holes, and growling whenever anyone got near the box.

He just got worse in the car... it honestly sounded like a Tasmanian Devil had gotten trapped in there rather than a Persian-mix. He actually started tearing holes in the box by the time we made the 45 minute drive back to our house! By the time we got the car doors open, he must have spied an exit, because he burst out of the box wailing and spitting... attacked our Husky... and then took off into the woods, where i presume he found a portal back to hell, because we never saw him again.

I told my aunt that next time, she could save us the trouble, and just give us a badger or a wolverine!

26. awwww -
poor kitty.

He was probably sick when they abandoned him. And then he was totally traumatized by A) being abandoned; B) being stuck in a box; C) abducted by strangers, who; D) had a DOG!

It does sound kinda funny, though.

24. Unfortunately, I have to say my oldest male right now...
Amusingly, considering the title of the original post, this particular cat's full name is Zerox the Copy Cat (intentionally misspelled so he doesn't get sued by greedy corporate interests! ;-) ).

Zerox is about 18 years old and has been going rather senile over the last year. Lately he's been demanding canned cat foods far more frequently, like just about anytime I walk into the kitchen or once he's decided I've had enough sleep by 5 am... As in, he jumps right on or in front of me and screams over and over till I give in. We really think that he's at the point that he's forgotten he was just given a can of food an hour or two beforehand. He's overweight already, so I've had to buy the little tiny Fancy Feast or similar products cans to split between all three cats just to keep Z happy through the day. I don't think he's going to be around for too much longer so I've been indulging him, but man he has been bugging me horribly the last few months!

28. poor kitty!
Can the vet give him anything that might help?

I know it's really hard letting an old pet go. But it's almost equally hard keeping them around (in terms of some of the "difficulties" than can wreak on a household!)
