2. As a side related issue...
...I used to read and post on the SF Indymedia site because I got a friend who volunteers there, and when the Pats went to the Super Bowl two years ago, some of the people at that site thought it was a government plot (remember the fumble in the snow against Oakland) to get the team in the Super Bowl because their names were the "Patriots", and that's a sign of nationalism and the coming "Bush Nazi Regime". Just wanted you to know that other sites have their fair share of wing-nuts, too.

3. Whenever I vote, the team I vote for loses, so I voted for Carolina!
Go Pats!

Actually, if Carolina won, it wouldn't be the end of the world for me.

4. Why the Panthers will win the Super Bowl
They're not expected to.

They were expected to get their asses handed to them by Dallas. Instead, they produced four quarters of very workmanlike, turnover-free football and went to the next round.

The Rams were expected to thump Carolina but good. Carolina pulled out a double-overtime win.

Then the great Donovan McNabb (and he is great, don't get me wrong) was supposed to turn the Panthers into mewling little kitties with their tails tucked between their legs all the way back to Charlotte. Donovan McNabb spent the second half on the sidelines with some seriously injured ribs. Fortunately, he'll have many months to mend before he's expected to carry the Eagles all by himself again.

Now we're dealing with the Super Bowl. And once again, Carolina's supposed to lose. Since they were expected to lose three times in the playoffs already, it's familiar territory for them.

Panthers by six on Super Bowl Sunday.

6. I personally think donovan McNabb is over-rated
His whole Team is, along with about 5 other NFL teams that were either matched against the Pats or the Panthers, that is why nobody would have ever predicted this superbowl back in August.

I'm not going to have a knee jerk reaction and all of a sudden be a huge Mcnabb fan because of what fat-ass had to say. I've always thought he was somewhat over-rated a lot of athletes are - are they not? It has nothing to do with race.

What irks me about a lot of people is that all of a sudden there were so many Eagles fans, face it these people didn't like the eagles as much as they hate Rush. It doesn't take away the fact that the eagles are above average choke artists.

12. He got to this game ahead of what, 12? 13 other teams?
based on what?

His receivers must have had their thumbs broken before that game, but here you are, saying how much he sucked in the Division Playoffs :eyes:

14. I never said he sucks.
Don't put words in my mouth.

Christ, I like McNabb, I'm just being honest about my opinion of him and his team. They've been to the NFC championship three years in a row and they are 0 for 3!

If they were the better team, they'd be the ones in the super bowl about to be destroyed by the Pats, not the Panthers.

5. I voted New England......
looking at things realistically, but I would much rather see Carolina take it.

It would be too awful to see 'The Patriots' win the Superbowl twice while Bush is in office.

18. I suspect that the Patriots have too much D --
So, while it will probably be close, I think the Pats are likely to take the Lombardi Trophy again.
