Respond to this post, and tell me what you're wearing
I'm trying to understand why the press always has to report on what a politico is wearing. See this thread:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=102&topic_id=320287

Indulge me , please :D

It is damned cold in Chicago. Socks and slippers.

On edit: About to take a bath -- now a peach terrycloth robe.

After bath: A red long T-shirt material nightgown and a dark green long robe. Plus slippers. Still damned cold in Chicago.

Oh, also a dark green towel to dry my wet hair.

No underwear.

14. Do you guys see where I'm going with this?
Why does the media feel an obligation to tell us what someone is wearing? And what does it have to do with anything?

Some people here get upset when we (not all of us) pick on Laura Bush's lack of fashion sense.

But the media feels an obligation to trash any and all Democrat's fashion sense. Either that, or describe what they are wearing in nauseating detail -- trying to make a case against their fashion sense.

And the kicker is, for some reason, Dems have more fashion sense. But the media is determined to prove that to be untrue.

Like the whoop la surrounding Clark's sweater. A complete waste of time.

17. Forrest for the trees
Sometimes I think it's a case of the reporter wanting to describe the scene so much they get caught up in what the person is wearing more than what candidate is saying and why everyone is there in the first place.

I agree, I do get tired of the clothes descriptions. It's not like we can't see pictures.

20. Yes
Seriously, Democrats have better taste than Republicans.
Laura Bush is fair game because she's such an embarrassment. Any one of us here could make her look so much better. No sense of style and no ability to choose advisers with fashion sense. Meow!

But, I get REALLY angry when the Democratic nominee's outfits are scrutinized by the press (e.g. MoDo-the-whore's three latest pieces of tripe masquerading as journalism.) These candidates are discussing things that affect our very lives....yet we hear about sweaters and the color of their clothes. It's all part of the bullshit spin the right wing whores use to distract the sheeples from the real issues....the FACTS.
