Paris Hilton "Crying" Behind Bars
Edited on Wed Jun-06-07 11:30 AM by 133724
(CBS) A teary-eyed Paris Hilton received two visitors in jail yesterday, her lawyer and a shrink, the New York Post reported Wednesday.

Defense lawyer Richard Hutton and Dr. Charles Sophy were visitors at the facility for two hours, the paper said, as the hotel heiress seems to be struggling with incarceration.

A lawyer who is representing two murder suspects staying in the same ward as Hilton told the newspaper, "They can hear her crying a bit."

aaaaaaaaaaaaaggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

On edit: Sources told the Post that Hilton was spared from a body cavity search upon her arrival at Lynwood.

accusation of replying out of ignorance.

If you were in jail, then say so. If you were in jail, then for how long?

I didn't ask what you were in there for, so you don't have to hide anything. No reason you can't just say so. So I'm curious; were you? For more than a day? For more than a week?

Thanks.

67. Look putz
because you seem so interested in the welfare of the little Hilton princess, who happens to be out after a whole three days.

Either I'm avoiding it as you say or I'm avoiding it because, like most people, I don't feel like giving personal details of myself out to random idiots in an open forum. Asking about someone's prison time and then following it up with a moronic line like "you have nothing to hide" is beyond stupid.

This is over.

68. Look, Just Admit You Pretended To Know Something About Something You Didn't Know.
No need to get so offended about it.

Saying something like "yes, I've been in jail for a few days", is not giving out "personal" details since none of us know who you are or would be able to ascertain who you are by you having said so.

The fact that even now you seem so irate and offended is further evidence to me that you have never in fact been in jail are are annoyed at having that been pointed out to you for your original comment implying you actually had some insight into what she's gonig through.

Because I have little doubt that if you had been in jail and did know what it was like, that you would've answered my reply quite bluntly and stated that you had been and that I was wrong.

But your refusal to answer the simple question directly, and instead trying to hide under a false cover of "well I don't want to give out personal details" as if we actually know you or something or just saying "yes, I was" would give us such huge details about who you are that we could all of a sudden find out where you live or something, is just all I need to know to ascertain that it is highly probable that you've never spent more than a few hours at most in jail and therefore were in fact replying in ignorance.

And I could give a rat's fat ass about Paris Hilton...

I know people who did the same thing she did and did not have to go to jail. Count your lucky stars all of you who did what she did and didn't get caught. Mel Gibson...no jail for him....Ahnold driving a motorcycle without a license and in an accident with his child, no jail, nothing. But Paris, oh my God, a sinful hussy, bad, bad throw the book at her. Jail would be hard to bear for any of you, and don't tell me you wouldn't shed a tear over it. Reserve your hate and words for those who deserve it like Cheney and Chimp. Or that creep Huckabee who let a convicted rapist out of jail who went on to rape and kill two young women afterwards.

Hang in there Paris.

29. Yes, they would
I know someone PERSONALLY who engaged in the exact same stupid, reckless behavior that Paris Hilton did (2 DUIs in less than a year, breaking probation, driving on a suspended license) and got 364 days.

Of course, the person I know was decidedly blue collar, lived in a singlewide trailer before he "went away", and could barely read. That probably had something to do with it. One hell of a handyman, though - the guy can fix anything.

34. In Britain, we tend to use the words interchangeably
I thought the USA used 'jail' for when people have been denied bail (or can't post it) and are awaiting trial, but looking it up, I see that it's also used for incarcerating people for misdemeanors. In that case, yes, 'jail'.

37. Prisons are the
state and federal penitentiaries that, in general, house those who have been sentenced to a year or more; jails are generally the county and municipal settings where people who are waiting for arraignment, for trial, for placement in prison, or who are serving sentences of less than one year are held.

27. its not schadenfreude
its a re-affirmation that someone like Ms. Hilton still at least at some level has to be responsible for her actions.

And it is also public condemnation for a public figure who's behaving badly. Nothing wrong with that either.

41. Website: Paris Is Crying, Not Eating Or Sleeping In Jail
It doesn't come as much of a surprise, but Paris Hilton isn't happy in jail. She's been crying on the phone, saying she's not sleeping or eating, and her cell at the Century Regional Detention Facility is "freezing cold," sources told the TMZ.com celebrity-news Web site.

She has three little blankets and no pillow and is using one of the blankets as a pillow, according to TMZ. Moreover, the cell is bright and jail noise echoes through her space.

Inmates struck up a chant when she went back to her cell yesterday, TMZ reported. As she walked by, they struck up a chorus, "Paris! Paris! Paris!" and she responded by smiling and waving.

Some inmates have been coming up to her cell door, mostly to say hi. One inmate said, "You don't deserve to be here," according to TMZ, and another made an origami butterfly from a magazine page and slipped it under her door. Plus, the guards have all been nice, she says, according to TMZ.

Jail is hard for everyone. I'm sure it's difficult to be locked away. I don't begrudge her the right to feel scared or upset. However, I also hope she uses this isolating time to feel some sorrow about risking others' lives for the sake of being drunk.
