Poll question: Is Tony Soprano a sociopath?
that was kind of crucial to a plot point in the second to last episode.

He seems more like a business man in a particularly unpleasant business to me and differs only from a corporate exec in degree, particularly how much he does "hands on"

1. I wouldn't say he is a sociopath.
He does have a conscious I do believe....sociopaths don't. That's the difference, imo.

3. I think so too.
Ted Bundy is a pretty good example of a sociopath.

2. He might even be a
psychopath. I think when the line is crossed to murder it's more psychopathic. Sociopaths are more like borderline personalities. Charming, confidence men, who think nothing of using people for their own gain.

5. people can murder for lots of reasons. we generally classify people as sociopaths & pschopaths
who do it themselves or have few layers of underlings between them and the dirty deed--and also by how much money is involved.

Who is more of a murderer, Tony killing another mobster or an insurance company executive denying life saving treatment to a little kid?

4. Does psychology still talk in such generalizations as "the criminal mind?"
I find this whole subplot unconvincing.
