But not in the way you think. My gallbladder saga continues. My insurance mess is finally straightened out. I'm hoping the contrast study being done tomorrow *will* show there's a problem with this horrid little organ and I can have it removed. So far, other tests aren't showing any abnormality. The unbelievable pain is telling another story.

I hadn't heard the gallbladder saga, so it's news to me. My mother had hers removed last fall. She's recovered beautifully. It was all done laporoscopally. (sp?) She suffered for the longest time with these incredible and arbirtary bouts of pain before they finally figured out what the hell was going on. Once they did, it was all handled pretty quickly. She's on Medicare, so it was covered that way.

It took them almost a year to diagnose mine. In the process I had a ultra sound, a cat scan, and the contrast test. All showed no abnormalities and then I ended up in Urgent Care after the worst attack I had experienced. They thought I had an ulcer but the doc checked my liver function and it was elevated. A second ultra sound showed the stones. My regular doc and I were pretty ticked because the radiologist said there was no way they could have developed between the 1st and 2nd ultra sound. My 2nd ultra sound technician told me that an ultra sound is only as good as the technician doing it because they are the ones who take the pictures for the radiologist to look at.

They did my surgery laprascopiclly (sp?) and the healing time was pretty quick. Pretty sore for a couple of days but other than that and a slight allergic reaction to the steri-strips, I had no problems.
