I've been dive-bombed by a robin for two days.
Talk about getting no respect.

I had no idea robins were so aggressive!

Usually they nest in the supports under our second-story deck, but it appears that this year Mama Robin made her nest in one of the trees in front of my garage, next to the walk. Every time I go out for a paper or the mail, she screeches and then flies straight at my head. I've already ducked several times, and I'm afraid she's really going to land on me and peck my eyes out soon.

The last time I ventured out, I spotted the fledglings fluttering near the eaves of the garage roof, so I beat a retreat.

It's bad enough dealing with a teenager without losing a battle with a frigging bird!

1. Some birds will defend their babies against any critter .
The mockingbirds torture the neighbor's cat if he wanders any where near the tree where they have a nest. I've seen birds chase away hawks several times their size too.

I say send the teenager out to get the mail.}(

3. They've attacked squirrels.
My MIL hates them. My grandmother used to talk sweet to them and coax them up to the porch to talk to her. I think it just matters if they have babies at the time or not.
