DU Computer Gurus....help!
Everytime I start my computer and open Internet Explorer, my home page settings keep being switched to www.websearch.net. How do I get rid of this?

Thanks

1. In IE, click the "Tools" menu
Choose "Internet Options" at the bottom of the menu.

The first tab that pops up will allow you to change your home page.

7. check for spyware
I recommend Ad-Aware and Spybot.

http://security.kolla.de

And maybe EZArmor for good measure:

8. Oh, that's different
In that case you probably picked up a nasty ad-bot or some other piece of junk that keeps resetting it without your permission.

Try using SpySweeper or AdAware and see if one of them can find something.

2. In IE go to the Tools menu
and select Internet Options. At the top of the General page you can set your homepage to whatever you'd like...

One idea
Have you changed the home page back to your choice in tools, internet options? It sounds like you've been to a site that changes things without your permission.

3. Spyware/Adware
Get two programs:

AdAware (http://www.lavasoft.de)

and

Spybot S&D (http://security.kolla.de)

Update both, and run both. They will identify the crapware that causes these issues.

Also visit http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/ for a quick scan.

6. Go to
Tools/Internet Options/General, and just enter the page you want to see when you start explorer. Restart it, should be ok.

You probably picked up a nasty little cookie along the way, asking if you ant to set your page to this.
