I wish I was in Tijuana, eating barbecued iguana....
i feel a hot wind on my shoulder
and the touch of a world that is older
i turn the switch and check the number
i leave it on when in bed i slumber
i hear the rhythms of the music
i buy the product and never use it
i hear the talking of the dj
can't understand, just what does he say?

i'm on a mexican radio

i dial it in and tune the station
they talk about the u.s. inflation
i understand just a little
no comprende - it's a riddle

i'm on a mexican radio

i wish i was in tiajuana
eating barbecued iguana
i take requests on the telephone
i'm on a wavelength far from home
i feel a hot wind on my shoulder
i dial it in from the south of the border
i hear the talking of the dj
can't understand, just what does he say?

i'm on a mexican radio

what does he say?

2. Darn good CD. Still in frequent rotation on my player.
He's gone on to produce some other great artists like Concrete Blonde.

3. Who remembers the Celtic Frost cover of the same song?
One of the strangest things ever.

4. What A Cool Song That Was
Cleverly done, but just lighthearted enough that it's clear they don't think too much of themselves. That was a good band.

5. And the head emerging from the large bowl of beans in the video...
was extremely memorable. The one thing I remember about the video, even 20 years later.

Loved the song, too.

6. I always thought Stan Ridgeway
and Harry Dean Stanton must have been separated at birth. I'm still convinced Stan is just Stanton incognito.

17. I thought it was Stan Ridgway and K.D. Lang . . .
Then again, it might have been the drugs.

Btw, has anyone checked out "Anatomy" or "Holidays In Dirt"? They're both fairly recent and both excellent!

7. Takes me back....remember "The Roadblock?"
Three miles down the highway in a Chevy '69
Were a pair of crazy eyeballs
Jumpin' left and right in time
To an eight track tape playin' Foghat and Jethro Tull
And a gasoline soaked hand shiftin'
A little plastic skull

And on the arm a blue tattoo that read
"I'm a son of a bitch"
A map open on the front seat
Leather black as pitch
One foot slammed on the gas, no shoe
Just an argyle sock

Andthat car was screamin' wild down the highway
Like lightnin' towards the roadblock
