Does anyone here ever check the gas mileage their car gets?

I always do every summer, over a 2 weeks or so period, usually as we take vacation or a few short trips, etc...

So this year my two weeks was around 1200 miles total. This was a mix of driving and two 3 day trips to some sites and amusements.

Interstate, US Highway, State 2-lanes, and city/suburb driving as well. Some stretches were at 70-75 mph, others were all lower than that. Air-conditioning running quite a bit.

What kind of mileage are you getting ?

4. i just don't know
if the gas gauge goes down to fast , i check for a leak , if it don't go down at all , that means i have not left the yard , but yes it is a good idea to check the milage to see if something has gone wrong with your car ,

8. ~30 mpg highway
for the Nissan, and 25mpg for the Fiat. Not good enough IMO. The Fiat is just a one day a week play car, so I can live with the crappy mileage it gets.

I was going to buy one of the 45mpg Honda Civics, but I lost my job before I found a good one. :( I currently have my eye on a Vespa.

12. Usually 33 mpg
mostly city driving. If it gets a long highway run I can get 35-37. But if I use the AC a lot it will drop to about 30 in the city.

I usually check the mileage about once a month. I tell myself that's a way to make sure everything is running right.

15. Our Kia gets about 40 mpg
under normal circumstances. At one time, we seemed to have travelled from Ware Mass, to Bangor Maine on $5.00 worth of gas, which is of course impossible. We must have a few gallons of slack at "empty". but this little car gets miraculous, way better than advertized gas milage, much like our old 1600cc subaru wagons way back when. I hate cars, but I'm starting to like this one. :)
