Her really early stuff in French is quite good. She has a vocal range that few singers can match. It wasn't until her husband (Rene Angelil) got hold of her and turned her into a Vegas circus that I really became disgusted with her. But really, when she was younger she recorded some remarkable stuff. Unfortunately, all of her early recordings are in French and therefore inaccessible to most of the North American market.
