Catmandu57 presents rules for the married man and closet space
A guide for everyone else.

(1). Clothing expands to fill available space.

(2). Her clothing expands to fill your available space.

(3). You will be regulated to hanging your clothing on the worst hangers in the closet.

(4). Suggestions that maybe the closet needs thinned out will be met with howls of protest.

Remember these rules, and married life will be fine, just grin and bear it, now, excuse me while I try to find two hangars to finish putting my clothing away.

1. Except in my case
Not only do his clothes take up 3/4 of the closet (and there's no way in hell I'll ever get him to thin it out), he takes 3 times as long in the bathroom as I do making sure his hair is perfect. :eyes:

2. Funny - in our house it is different
His stuff keeps creeping into my side of the closet, and he actually prefers wire coat hangers, so I get to have all the plastic ones.

3. NO WIRE HANGARS
Crap that's about all I can find, and I still can't find two more, hopefully a couple have fallen on the floor.

9. I've got my own closet far away from the bedroom but her stuff still ends up in it.
Along with the cat on occasion.

10. Now the cats I don't mind
They've built a nest way back in there, it's their hidey hole.

12. Actually, I need more closet space than she does.
Most of her clothes are of the no-ironing-necessary variety.

I, on the other hand, have to wear all pressed clothes. Further exacerbating the problem, I have a 50/50 split of business casual and business formal needs. What's unfortunate about that is that they're not intermingled, so I need pretty much a full set of each business casual and business formal. And, of course, I also have plain ol' casual clothes needs too.

In other words, my wardrobe has to be more expansive than her, and thus, I take up slightly more closet space than she.
