Here are my evaluations -

Phil: he has a voice that can sometimes do country ok, but not much else. Tonight showed he was not up to a Bon Jovi rocker

Jordin: she also sounded out of her element. Didn't work for me.

LaKisha: better than last week - she was restrained and made me feel each word.

Blake: he slowed the song down a bit too much, and the chorus lacked punch. He gets a few points for putting it in his own style, but it was my least favorite performance from him so far.

Chris: on the bright side, it could have been worse, because he kept his nasal singing in check. But it still lacked edge.

Melinda: last week was her best performance ever, and this week was another good one. She didn't fall into the trap of shouting, yet she sounded gritty.

I'm rooting for either Melinda or Blake.
