Any book recommendations...
for my almost 10 year old son?

He loves to read and he's been going through a book every few days? He likes The Edge Chronicles, Harry Potter, Leminy Snicket's, etc. He's in 4th grade and recently tested in reading on a 12th grade level, I'm just trying to compile al ist for the library next time.

Thanks for any help :)

2. When I was in the 4th grade,
My mom gave me her copy of Stephen King's "The Eyes of the Dragon". It's different from all his other books, written as fantasy rather then horror, and without all the blood and bad language. He had actually written it for his daughter. Anyways, I loved it and after reading it mom gave me a copy of The Talisman which I also loved.

4. Me too
Black House was very good, too! They remain a couple of my favorite books.

5. a lot of people like philip pullman's dark materials series
i'm not too crazy about fantasy but people who like harry potter like this series as much or more, and it should be on the same reading level or easier (but not too easy) as harry potter

the first one is called the golden compass

at that age i liked the harder-edged stuff but a lot of it's a bit old-fashioned this time of century -- things like "end of eternity" by asimov spring to mind -- might be good if he wants to try a little more "science" edge rather than fantasy all the time

8. "Hoot" by Carl Hiaasen
Just as engaging as his adult books, without the profanity.

I enjoyed it thoroughly.
