I'm back from Myrtle Beach, but something seems to be wrong
with DU. Where are all the "Where's Midlo?", and "Sigh, I really miss Midlo" threads?

:hide:

Oh, and we didn't eat here.

Or here,

We did however, eat here

on the way down and back.

Oh, and FWIW, Myrtle Beach sucks.

Who else will you banter with? Who else makes my BFF laugh?

4. What really got to me was all the teenagers.
Now, of course, I had my two with me and my 10yo, but the unattended teens, wow. Something I really didn't expect to see.

Walking down the grand strand after dinner, I felt like I was in a scene from American Graffiti.

There was one funny thing that happened though. We ate at Pier 14, really nice seafood place right on the pier and the teenagers, TeenMidlo, and her two friends were of course, all dressed up :eyes:.

We were waiting outside with them for my husband and my friend's husband to pay the bill and these four really cute teen aged boys came over to them and started chatting them up.

The two fathers literally raced to the scene and were saying 'they're not available, they're not available'.

So, me, smartass that I am, I put my arm through one of the boys and said "I'm available".

The poor kid almost died.

It was pretty funny.

6. good one!!!
;)

i haven't been to myrtle in years...since my twenties. i will stay north or south of it and then drive to it for a day trip. that is about all i can stand of it.

try to keep this to yourself though...

we brag about it so all the tourists will keep going back there and we can have the rest of the coastline in relative seclusion

8. It's currently in post production.
the scenes of me and babyMidlo at the Ripley Aquarium were deemed too intense for a PG rating, so it needs to be edited.

22. I was wondering where you were
I wanted to ask you something but since you haven't been around I don't think you can answer it.

Channel 12, especially the morning newscast, has gone way rightwing since the "Lincoln Financial Group" bought the station. This is not the same as "the Lincoln Group" of fake news stories in Iraq fame (see below) I don't think but every news story is straight off of Fox News.

23. I don't watch the morning Channel 12, but I have noticed that
with the evening Channel 12. Especially Gene Cox. He seems to have a comment, useless, for everything.

20. You should have seen my aunt
in Cherry Grove. :-)

Yes, Downtown Myrtle Beach is very kitchy now. (Not that it wasn't before. Except then it was kitsch I could recognize.)

24. I live there..
And yes it does suck.. The area really doesn't suck to me, but the traffic is the part that sucks. It is just horrible. I hate leaving my house in the summer because I know it's gonna take me 20 minutes to get less than a mile down the road.. Then I have bike week to look forward to next month :eyes: . I ate at the sea captains house last week, was that the seafood restaurant you ate at?

25. We ate at Pier 14, Bummz, and Ramando's.
Ramando's was by far and away the most awesome Italian restaurant I have ever eaten in. The food was absolutely out of this world. I had a delicious shrimp, artichoke heart and feta dish. It was absolutely wonderful.
