I have a friggin' lung infection
and I have to give "the most substantial speech of the semester" (as assigned) tonight.

Someone take me out back and shoot me.

Ironically, my speech is on universal health care.

1. Well, you can definitely work a personal perspective into your speech.
That might lend it some impact.

I hope the infection clears up quickly and easily. I hope you're feeling better soon.

7. *snort!*
I should circulate through the room, lick everyone, and tell them it's part of my presentation.

3. Is there anyway you can get an extension
That sounds like something you don't want to mess around with. Hope you're on some good meds.

5. I've been on penicillin for strep throat since Monday,
It's done a great job kicking the strep symptoms, but nothing for the lung issues.
I am so unbearably tired.
I just have to make it through my speech tonight, and I'm done with classes until Monday.

10. Are you at home ?
If you are, and can take a steamy shower and a nap, I think it would help.

11. Lung
Is it an infection or Bronchitis, usually after or during Strep Throat that occurs....
the Penis illin will take care of everything though, slowly but surely.

14. Apparently, it's an infection.
I don't have much of a cough. No congestion. No wheezing, even. Just wretched inflammation that makes it hurt to breathe.

13. Ah, Lara
I feel for you. A couple of weeks ago, I swore I hacked up a lung. And talking was only optional for me...

Do you have powdered hot mustard? If you, you could make a mustard plaster. I've always found they've helped (even for sinuses).

Just make a paste of 1/3 mustard powder to 2/3 white flour, spread it over a rag, and wrap it in a rag/towel that you will have to throw away. Put it over the affected area, and have a bit of a nap. Make sure you don't burn yourself...if it's too hot, wrap it in another sheet of some sort.

I hope you feel better soon, and good luck with your speech! :grouphug:

Perhaps if you do hack up a lung, your class can go with you to emergency and see the health care system up close and personal! :P
