Poll question: Parents, fess up--do you raid the kid's Easter Basket?
I can't be the only one!

1. Oh hell yes. And I "reserved" some good stuff in my closet.
I hope my younger one doesn't find it -- my cover will be blown!

3. My kid is too smart for his own good.
He figured out who the Easter Bunny was this year. He informed us that he had seen baskets exactly like his at the store, and the candy was all "store candy", and he didn't believe that the Easter Bunny shopped at the store. Then he asked us flat-out "Are you guys the Easter Bunny?"

I had always promised myself that we'd tell him the truth if he ever came right out and *asked*, so we did. He wasn't upset, though--just highly amused. He'll be 7 on the 31st of May, by the way.

4. My daughter is seven and desperately wants to believe -- so she believes.
My son was seven when some fourth graders told him the scoop on Santa, the Bunny, et al. He came home and demanded the truth, so I told him. He was crushed for a little bit and then got over it quickly. Then he enjoyed being in on the secret.

2. Nope! although I'm not shocked that you do.
All I've had in terms of sweets this holiday are two (2) small Cadbury chocolate eggs. For some reason I'm not into it this year, knock on wood.

5. My kid never liked any of the candy I like
so I got him a little candy that he liked and then put other non-candy items in the basket (fishing lures, baseball cards, books....)

6. Totally - but my kid is only 10 months old and my mother insisted on giving him a basket
I also have a 7 year old nephew who she did the same thing with - basket full of candy and a bunny rabbit. She just wanted to be fair.

Now the basket that we gave our little one had all kinds of bath toys and books and cars (he loves anything with wheels right now), a giant stuffed bunny that is twice as tall as he is and one chocolate bunny that we did let him have. He went straight from the highchair to the bathtub.
