1. Here's a good, although a bit unusual one.
I made it with a few changes to lower the fat, but as is I'd guess it would hit the mark. This was a very good recipe. The white wine and onions put it over the top for flavor and it was easy to make.

2. Paula Deen's recipes will probably kill you.
http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,1977,FOOD_9936_20803,00.html

4 cups cooked elbow macaroni, drained
2 cups grated cheddar cheese
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sour cream
4 tablespoons butter, cut into pieces
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup milk

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Once you have the macaroni cooked and drained, place in a large bowl and while still hot and add the cheddar. In a separate bowl, combine the remaining ingredients and add to the macaroni mixture. Pour macaroni mixture into a casserole dish and bake for 30 to 45 minutes. Top with additional cheese if desired.

26. Typical Paul Deen recipe: Deep-fried sticks of butter.
Freeze the butter.

Fry bread crumbs in extra butter.

Roll the butter stick in the bread crumbs.

Deep fry in a gallon of clarified butter.

Serve with butter.

This is really easy. No oven involved, just the microwave.

1 package choc chips,
½ cup peanut butter,
4 cups chow mein noodles,
mini marshmallows.
Melt choc chips and peanut butter together for 1 min in microwave, stir and microwave for additional 1 ½ min until melted. Add chow mein noodles and stir with 2 spoons/forks as tossing a salad.

Kinda like Carbonara

4 cups cooked elbow macaroni
large onion, diced.
12 slices fried bacon (retain fat for sauce)
quarter cup of melted butter
1 cup of heavy (15% mf) cream
3 cups of shredded cheese (cheddar works well)
salt and pepper to taste

cook pasta (duh!)
cut bacon into small slices and fry with onions (the smell in your kitchen will be yummy)
melt butter in a saucepan, add cream, bacon and onions, bacon fat, then the cheese.
Combine all ingredient in a covered casserole dish then bake at 350 for about 45 minutes.

Your arteries will gag, but you will love it.

Trust me on this.

12. I have a dynamite recipe but it's for a crock pot
If you have one try this:

INGREDIENTS:
2 eggs
12 oz. can evaporated milk
1-1/2 cups milk
1/2 lb. elbow macaroni pasta
3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese
1 cup shredded American cheese
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
1/2 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. white pepper
1/2 tsp. onion powder
1/8 tsp. garlic powder
PREPARATION:
Spray the inside of the slow cooker with nonstick cooking spray. In a large bowl, beat eggs with the fresh and evaporated milks. Stir in UNCOOKED macaroni and all of the shredded cheeses, salt and pepper, and onion and garlic powders; mix well. Pour into 4 quart crockpot. Cover cook on low for 5 to 6 hours. Do NOT stir or remove the lid while this dish is cooking. Serves 4-6

(When' it's done I spoon it into ramekins, top with breadcrumbs & put in a hot oven to crisp it up)

13. Macaroni and Jesus
Make a roux with abt 3 tb butter and 3 tb flour and add onion powder, garlic powder, paprika, mustard powder, white pepper and salt to taste (use more paprika if using white cheddar and want a yellowish mac-n-cheese). Add enough milk to make a medium white sauce. Add 3/4 lb sharp cheddar, 1/8 pound romano and 1/8 pound parmesan plus the white rind only of a blue cheese. Stir until cheeses are melted; add milk as needed. Stir into 1lb of cooked rotelle or fusilli pasta and place into a casserole; bake uncovered for about 30 minutes or until top is browned.

Other cheese odds and ends can be thrown into the cheese sauce, but remove the rinds from and soft cheeses like brie.

18. This one is really good.
This Is Star Jones' recipe. I copied it from The View's website, before they fired. her.

"All Star Macaroni & Cheese"
Serves 8

Ingredients:
½ stick of butter
3 cups of milk
6 oz of Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
6 oz of Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese (shredded)
8 oz of Velveeta Cheese (shredded)
2 oz of Blue Cheese (shredded)
2 oz of Gorgonzola Cheese (shredded)
Salt and pepper to taste
1 box of Elbow Macaroni
Olive Oil
1 large baking or casserole dish

Directions:
Pre-heat oven to 350°.

Pour milk and butter into a medium sauce pan and heat over a low flame. Slowly add each kind of cheese (except 1 oz of Sharp Cheddar and a ½ oz of Blue Cheese) and allow it to melt. Be sure to cook over a low flame and stir constantly to prevent clumping and sticking.

While the cheese is melting, in a separate pot, cook the macaroni according to the directions (do not overcook) with a dash of salt and 1 tablespoon of olive oil.

Drain macaroni and pour ½ into a large baking or casserole dish. Add salt and pepper to taste then slowly add half of the cheese/milk mixture and stir together thoroughly. Pour remaining macaroni and cheese/milk mixture into the dish and stir well.

Sprinkle remaining Sharp Cheddar and Blue Cheese on top of the macaroni and place in the oven. Bake until a light golden brown (approximately 20 - 30 minutes). Let stand a half hour and serve.

I also Like Paula Deen's recipe posted above. If you have any leftovers, Paula has a recipe for fried mac & cheese.

Paula's Fried Mac & Cheese

Mac and cheese, cold
Flour
1 egg, beaten
Bread crumbs
Peanut oil

Heat the peanut oil to 350°
Cut the mac & cheese into bite sized squares. Dredge squares in flour, dip in the egg and coat well with bread crumbs. Fry until golden brown, about a minute per side, then drain on paper towels.

Before & after:

That should be plenty of cholesterol for you!

19. This one is different
I will give you my Mother-in-law's recipe. It's the best thing about her. Really. Even my husband agrees :D

1 lb. macaroni, cooked and drained (Barilla is really good)
1 1/2 pounds white American cheese, sliced
1/2 to 2/3 cup milk, divided
1/2 stick butter
garlic salt
pepper

In 9x13 casserole, layer 1/2 the macaroni, dot w/ butter, then 1/2 the cheese. Pour half the milk over this layer.
Repeat with macaroni but then sprinkle with garlic salt to taste, then the rest of the cheese, rest of the milk, dot w/ butter, sprinkle w/ pepper.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 20-25 minutes. Let stand for five minutes before serving.

Hope you like it! :hi:

20. Death by cheese? There's worse ways to go, I guess. This one's a killer for sure.
Edited on Thu Apr-05-07 09:43 AM by youthere

INGREDIENTS
1 tablespoon oil (canola or whatever...You're just using it to grease the baking dish)
1 (16 ounce) package elbow macaroni
9 tablespoons butter
1/2 cup shredded Muenster cheese
1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1/4 cup shredded Parmesano-Reggiano or Asiago
2 cups half-and-half (you could use milk I guess..but that will bring down the fat and cholesterol levels and who needs that...I mean really? you also might need a little more or less depending how "wet" you like it }( )
8 ounces cubed processed cheese food (or 12 or 20 oz....whatever. velveeta is the best of course)
2 eggs beaten
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon ground black pepper
DIRECTIONS
Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add pasta and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente; drain well and return to cooking pot. DO NOT OVERCOOK THE PASTA! This will also be baked so better to err on the side of underdone than overdone.
In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt 8 tablespoons butter; stir into the macaroni.
In a large bowl, combine all the shredded cheeses and mix well. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (Add the half and half, 1 1/2 cups of cheese mixture, cubed processed cheese food, and eggs to macaroni; mix together and season with salt and pepper. Transfer to a lightly greased (use the oil) deep 2 1/2 quart casserole dish. Sprinkle with the remaining cheese mixture and 1 tablespoon of butter.
Bake in preheated oven for 35 minutes or until hot and bubbling around the edges; serve.

I also like to top it with bread crumbs before baking it. I mix the crumbs (maybe 3/4 of a cup) with a little melted butter (2 Tablespoons maybe) and then put it on top. It makes a yummy crust on top. Be sure to serve this with a green salad and an angioplasty.

This is supposed to serve 6..but if I were trying to feed anymore than four I'd double the recipe.

:P

I dare you to invite your cardiologist to dinner and serve him/her this!

30. Those are GREAT, but too hard! Will's a single guy! HERE'S the solution
Start with a box of Kraft Mac&Cheese. Follow the directions. Melt a big stick of Velveeta in the microwave. Stir it into the pot of M&C. Take a bunch of American singles, unwrap them, and put 'em on top of the whole thing. Microwave if necessary, but it probably won't be. You can stir the melted singles into the pot, or leave them on top. If you stir them in, add a few more on top just for good measure.

THAT'S the way a real man makes mac & cheese.

39. This is my old college roommate's mother's recipe, and there's
nothing better. I don't make it much anymore simply because it makes so much, and I live alone, but I'd be thrilled for you to try it--it's totally addicting.

Laura's Macaroni & Cheese
Serves 4-6

12 oz macaroni
2 eggs
salt and pepper
1-1/2 lbs longhorn cheddar in block form (or other cheese--I like colby jack, and buy more if you have a bigger pan or like more cheese)
1-1/2 to 2 cups milk

Boil macaroni, following package instructions.

Slice cheese into thin layers. Line bottom of deep casserole dish with cheese slices. Spoon in half the macaroni, add another layer of cheese, and add the rest of macaroni. Top with cheese and push extra down the sides of the pan (the more cheese the better). It's important to leave a little space between some of the cheese slices because of the egg mixture.

In 2-cup measuring cup, beat 2 eggs until yellow. Add enough milk to make 2 cups, and salt and pepper to taste. Pour over and down into the casserole dish until just up to the top layer of cheese (may not take 2 full cups--this is kinda hinky). If your pan is larger, you may need to make more.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until desired browning. You could put a piece of foil on top for a short time to make sure the dish cooks correctly, then remove to brown.

Let set 10 minutes or until firm. Enjoy--it's great with just a salad, some bread, and a nice wine or beer.
