It can be in many forms: the coach before the big game, the war leader before his armies, the president before a global event of some sort. It always ends with the troops/players/citizens yelling and cheering and overcoming odds.

Its just become so cliche.

1. It's embarassing.
It's like watching a gymnast fall on her head. Uncomfortable.

5. Haha...exactly!
Very uncomfortable. I also hate that "slow clap"...where one person starts clapping slowly and then EVERYBODY is clapping and cheering.

2. You know what's worse?
When your boss brings a clip of an "inspirational" movie speech in to show at work because he's too lame to make his own damn speech.

:banghead:

3. Oh, yes
The only one I kind of like is in "Remember the Titans," where the coach runs them onto the Gettysburg battlefield and talks about stopping the interracial problems. That's kind of cool.

But in general, I agree. Every single one of them has one of two sound tracks playing in my head: "Battle Hymn of the Republic," for patriotic speeches, and the Notre Dame fight song (from Knute Rockne: All American, "win one for the Gipper"), for sports speeches.

4. there was one in the trailer for some 'hip' movie that
came out a while back that single-handedly convinced me not to see the movie. All I remember about it was it was about music, and the lead guy was named Terrence (in real life) and they are in the recording studio and he is all lecturing this unwed pregnant woman about something, and I am just sitting there thinking 'what a bunch of bull, who is this single unpregnant guy to be lecturing a pregnant woman about anything'. It was so schmaltzy it made me not even wanna see the movie even though it was really being hyped.

6. Yes. I also hate "lots of time has elapsed" montages.
Especially athletic training montages, because they always show people doing stupid training exercises while some horrible music rocks them on. And then TADA! Said person is an excellent skier or whatever.
