2. Only if I was in the market for a car.
Otherwise $50 wouldn't get me to do much of anything. Hey I may be easy, but I'm not cheap.

:silly:

3. Maybe....
If I had nothing else to do. Of course, I'd use my standard false name and all....

5. Sure, I'd just make sure to put my fingers in my ears...
...and sing "la la la la" when the salesvermin started the hard sell. Actually, I'd probably say something like, "No, seriously, this car is for real? I'm not on some sort of 'Candid Camera' show, am I? I mean, you don't actually expect people to buy this, do you?" Then take the card and run.

7. That is where I am leaning!
It would mean my next trip to Target would only be $50 out of pocket - since Target is the $100 Store.

11. Luckily, I deal with sales people all day
so I have no problem tuning out "the pitch". Just smile, say thanks, and take the card.

10. Probably. It's their job to convince me.
There's always the possibility that I'd buy.

They give away the cards to have the opportunity to try to sell to customers. If it was contingent upon purchasing, it wouldn't be given until the purchase was complete.

13. What do you think that $50 will cost you?
I don't believe in the free lunch.

The dealer or whoever is offering this plans to make a profit. You can expect they will be preaty agressive in trying to get you to part with far more than $50 in exchange.

14. As a wise person once said to me, "You can't get blood out of a rock"
My husband and I are not in a position to buy a new car right now, therefore, they will not get anything from me.

It is no purchase necessary.

27. Only mentioned as a caution
While you can get things free by attending these types of events. They are held because they produce results. Be it a gift card or a free weekend at a hotel. If you can resist the pressure than go for it. But remember that you are dealing with a salesperson who probably will be out of a job if they see 3 consecutive customers without selling a car. So the pressure could be quite intense.

20. Hells Yeah!
I love Target and I love money. As far as the sales pitch, I actually take a sadistic pleasure in dealing with sales reps. I'm in sales myself and it's hilarious when someone tries to use my own tactics against me. It's fun.

21. no
i tried this once and the sales staff was so hateful that it wasn't worth the $50

i will never buy a nissan or have any dealings with any nissan dealership as a result of their hatefulness, i filed a complaint but never really received an apology

these promotions are just not worth the crap you take from the sales crew

23. Yes...
where do I sign up.

Fun to test drive a car, and drive the hell out of it... and get a $50 gift card from Target, that famous French store (pronounced tar-jay with a soft j)

24. they won't let you test drive the car if they think you are doing it for the gift card
they are really hateful, for my promotion, they had to sign something for me to get the $50, i had to get the sales person name/number of the person who let me test drive the car...which they would not let me do and it was v. difficult to get the signature, i was pretty much cursed out and it was only when i wouldn't go away that they coughed up the $50

no test drive was permitted at any time

i actually did get the gift eventually but it was a hassle and the hatefulness i encountered shocked me

salespeople do not want to deal w. people who are not actually going to buy, they work on commission and are hateful about letting you know about it

the funny thing was, i was actually going to buy a car, but not the same day i did the test drive--- and not a nissan, i will never buy a nissan now if i live to be 100, that was the company where the staff was so hateful about their promotion

my suggestion is that companies shouldn't do these promos if they are unwilling to train staff to be courteous about it

25. Sure, why not?
I'm too broke to buy the car and I could use a gift card to buy cat litter and other odds and ends. That'd actually be a good idea. Too bad we never have anything like that in this piddly little town.

26. I would, without hesitation.
I spent $106 at Target just yesterday...MMjr needed clothes, so I bought him some cool shorts and polos. Totaled 99 + tax.

I'd loved to have had a $50 card...that would have been a lot of clothes for $56. Why is it that target has great men's clothes, but not so great women's clothes? (At least the Target here.)
