Question about IE for techie types

I use Win98 and IE6.o.2800.1106 (latest version). Any way, my question is this:

I often open multiple browser windows; when I use one of them to go to either Yahoo or Hotmail, they 'pop up' as soon as they finish loading, regardless of whether that is the window I'm in, or not. is there any way to turn off this obnoxious feature?

1. Try this:

Download TweakUI for Windows...you can control a lot of different things in the Windows interface and I think that's one of them.
