Thanks!

She's using acrylics to paint with......

She likes their properties, and their vivid colors!

They dry quickly too........

No wonder she's not hanging around in here.

Yes, she sure does!

Got that from the University of Chicago....

I'm so grateful I'm her mom....

I don't have to compete with her!

30. U of C! My alma mater!
I loved going to school there, but unfortunately I didn't come out of there with any talent at all, unlike her. I did, however, develop an appreciation for the city, and hope to visit again someday.

It's a good school!

Chicago is a very interesting city, full of fantastic restaurants and like that!

I visited her for a couple of weeks, and we had a ball.....

35. If I didn't hate the Midwest winters so much
I'd move back there in a heartbeat. I was there in the late 70s (I am old). I remember Medici pizza, Harold's Chicken Shack (the best!!!), Jimmy's (the best dive bar EVER!), Chinatown (Moon Palace), the Museum Of Science and Industry, Regenstein Library (which was the big social center in those days), sneaking out to Wrigley Field to avoid grad school classes, and my beloved lakefront. Now I am getting all nostalgic for my misspent youth - sigh!

That one struck home as soon as I saw it. Maybe a buried memory. I love it. Your daughter has a gift.

8. My dear hickman!
Thank you, sweetie!

She does indeed.........

From the time she could clutch a crayon (at around a year), we knew she had something special....

We always encouraged her....

Glad you could come by...

Kids are amazing......

It's even better now that's she's back out here, and we can see her now and then!

She always wanted to be an artist, but was concerned about making a good living at it.....

But now she thinks she can do it!

Thanks, sweetie! :pals:

18. I'm older than I used to be
But not as old as I will be, by a long shot.

My grand parents, seen in this 1917 photograph, lived into their mid-nineties.

I'm fortunate to come from a good family tree.

13. OK, I absolutely love your daughter's work
That is a very unique style and I can't tell you how much I love it. A lot like Seurat, but much more interesting.

Much to be proud of, Peggy.

I'm an artist and paint in acrylics. I use a pointillistic style in my pen and ink drawings, but not in my paintings -- seeing your daughters work makes me want to do a little of my own experimenting.

Bookmarking, I love it that much!

22. You know now that I have spent more time.....
popping on each of the thumb nails -- it's kind of a Van Gogh, Seurat thingy she has going with the colors of Fauvism. It's a delightful style that is very unique. I love her colors! Thank you so much for sharing.

16. My dear av8rdave!
Thank you so much, sweetie!

I really believe that kids will pretty much raise themselves...

With the proper environment, of course....

We always supported her artistic endeavors, and this is the result!

There are artists on both sides of our family.....

But none like her, or with her success......

Thanks!

There is artistic talent on both sides of our family tree.....

She needs no encouragement from me anymore.....

She's all grown up!

Of course, we still do tell her how marvelous her stuff is, but the bottom line is when she sells it!

She's definitely a pro now......

I am a very early to bed person, but you have to realize, I get up really early too! Plus I'm usually very tired after a day on the water and in the sun.

Hey my mom is out there visiting my sister in the Sierra Nevada, way far north of you but still in CA...so she is on your time. I gotta get out there sometime.

G'night sweet Peg.
