This is a tough time of year up here.
I am looking at a vast expanse of snow and bare trees that are bending in the wind tonight. It is very beautiful, especially the birches and the shadows that the trees leave on the snow at twilight. I think that there will be some part of a moon tonight which will make everything outside look ghostly and beautiful BUT I'm ready to hear a bird and see a bud. I'd even welcome a black fly if it meant that spring has finally come. This is just the worst time of year!

1. It's not quite that bad here
but I do understand. Garrison Keillor said March is the month God gave us so that those who don't drink can know what a hangover feels like. And that rodent in Pennsylvania? He was WRONG!!

4. Hi ya sweetie!!
I'll be in Tulsa first weekend in May to see my nephew graduate from college. It will probably be a whirlwind trip but I'll try my best to get together with you.

:hi:

2. I can relate
I live in California now but I lived in Vermont for the 38 years before that. The other day, I was looking at a photo of a Vermont spring - bare trees by a cold looking river, a dust of snow on a mountain in the background. But there were tiny buds on the trees and a hint of new green on the ground. I commented to my SO how beautiful it was and he - California boy - was a little bewildered. It looked pretty stark and barren to him.

Those first signs of spring are the most beautiful sight in the world. Hopefully, you'll see 'em soon. :hi:
