I am good at video games, I am intelligent, and I am good with logic problems. So tell me
why the hell do I suck so bad at f@#king Minesweeper?

FreeCell, Solitaire, Spider Solitaire, Hearts... I own at all of them.

I rock Sudoku and Kakuro.

But I cannot, cannot, cannot do jack in Minesweeper. Meanwhile, one of my past roommates was a freakin genius at it...

Anyone else out there share my pain?

You have to stop thinking and use your instincts more.

3. When was the last time you needed to sweep a mine?
Unless you're in the Navy I wouldn't worry about it.

4. I had a girlfriend like that years ago
My game:
click.........click........click:nuke:

Her game:
clickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclickclick Done!

Totally annoying. Perhaps her being a math PhD candidate had something to do with it...

6. Minesweeper is a strategic game.
It is best to think and pay attention to the number on the boxes left behind. If you click on a box and a bunch of boxes disappear with a single box in the center with a 1 on it, don't click that box, because it is the one with the mine under it. And if you don't have the setting set up so that the marks are on there, enable it. It'll make a world of difference.

Click Game and wait for the little drop down menu, then make sure "marks" is checked.

I know. I used to have the same frustrating problem with that game. It annoyed me to no end.
