but I have to go to bed... story will have to wait.

How's the dog doing?

4. My husband use to have a 72 'cuda
maybe it was a 71. Whatever year they had the round tail lights. He has now spent the last 7 years wondering why he sold it and how he will get another one.

I personally am trying to talk him into a GTO of some sorts.

We LOVE muscle cars in this family. We just don't currently own one. That will change soon.

9. Hottest car I ever drove
My dad bought a slightly used number from a friend who was getting too many speeding tickets back in 1967: Mint '65 Buick Wildcat white-top convertible, metallic blue with red interior, 427 hp. In high school I'd take it out on the 8-lane late at night and bury the speedometer at 120. Dad never caught on to why the one rear tire kept wearing out so fast (no positraction & a teenaged son who loved laying rubber). I'd give ANYTHING to have that car now...

13. Hottest car I've ever ridden in
1968, working on I-89 construction in Vermont...the head bridge engineer had just gotten a Shelby GT, took it out one night on an unopened, no-lined, no-guardrail section of the interstate, got it up to 160, scared the living shit out of me. Those were the days.

15. I once owned a cherry 1970 Dodge Challenger
She was loaded. It was like driving in a cockpit, with all the super duper controls over head. I was so little in this car, that you couldn't see me when I drove it! That always put a giggle on my face!

Her name was Tune, she was this color, without the side stripe and had a cream color vinyl top. I bought her used in 1974 for 1500 dollars. If I ever come into a lot of money, I'm gonna go find me this car again (though you won't see me at the wheel when I drive by, but I'll wave!) :hi:

new SS Chevelle 396(375)hp (special order), four speed, posi, silver with a black vinyl top. Spent all my college money. Thank God for the GI bill. Three years later traded for a VW van...the times they were a changin'
Price...about $3900.00 delivered.

18. I had a 1966 Chevy Impala...396...automatic...factory air...
Damn thing got gallons to the mile! Good thing it wasn't in top condition, or I'd have gone broke putting gas in the thing. :D

I should still buy flush_bush's '86 Mustang GT...tinker with it a bit. I hate being cash poor. x(

19. My Chevelle never met a gas station it didn't like. As long
as the octane was high everything was good. I know it's a relative matter but the price of high test in those days was 24.9 cpg. Fortunately my roommates were able to all chip in and we kept on rollin'. That car would be completely out of touch with today's concerns and values but there is nothing like the roar of a four barrel opened up and the snap of hitting all four gears perfectly.

20. hottest car
is the one I have now. My 99 Mustang GT is now getting a brand new engine because either my son or my daughter's boyfriend spun a bearing on it. Final cost $5100.00 of which the extended warranty will pick up $3000.00. It happened because I got sick and tired of being accused of being selfish for not letting them use it for work. I guess I should've been more selfish.

21. As a youngster....
... I had:

a 1964 GTO
a 1966 GTO
a 1966 GTO convertible (man I wish I'd held on to that :))
a 1968 Chevelle SS 396 (easily the fastest car I ever owned, for reasons I could never quite understand = but it went thru gas and spark plugs like no tomorrow :))
a 1966 MGB - most fun to drive car ever, but required a full-time mechanic to keep running :(

Someday I'm going to pick up an old Camaro or Firebird and act like a kid :)

learned on a '53 Chevy stick shift
drove a '56 Bel Air shift - family hand-me-down
and, a '63 Chevy II
