Cici's pizza...odd?

So a few days ago we decide on pizza for dinner and a Cici's just opened and we'd heard good things about it so we called in our take out order.

Miz t. goes to pick it up and whips out her Discover card. We are credit card people and neither of us usually has over ten bucks in cash on us.

The guy at Cici's says "We don't take credit cards".
hunh?
EVERYBODY takes credit cards. Especially national restaurant chains. Even Mc-Bleeding-Donalds takes credit cards now.

Cici's takes cash, checks, or debit/check cards, but NO credit cards.
Miz t. was $4.50 shy of the pizza tab.
Cici's said "Sorry".
A lady waiting for her pizza, total stranger, GAVE Miz t. a fiver.
Very nice.
But NO credit cards?
Wonder how much business they're losing?
We ain't goin' back.

1. I figure all chains take plastic.

Some of the smaller, local places might now, but a chain? Weird.

As for Cici's, I think their pizza is nasty, that's why I don't go. ;-)

My wife likes Cici's, but only when in a mood for mass quantities. Personally, I don't care for it.

I have never heard of a pizza tasting like semen before but I am curious about what semen tastes like? Can you please describe it for us newbies that don't have a clue about how it tastes.

When they taught you to smell chemicals? Don't put your nose directly over the open container or the fumes will burn you.

Keep your face a few inches away from the container. Open the clorox (or any bleach actually) and with your hand wave fumes toward you. You'll smell it in a hurry.

No semen isn't that bad, but it is reminicient of clorox (because it is part ammonia). Puts a whole new spin on that whole swallowing issue, doesn't it? ;-)

A lot of the mom & pop BBQ places here only take cash. Or your personal check, believe it or not.

But you know that going in.
One really good seafood place (never advertises, all word-of-mouth) will take a check from ANYWHERE.
It's just not something I would expect from a national chain.

Interesting that 3 folks here hate their pizza.
Semen? I don't think I'll pursue that one. ;-)

I'm surprised that a pizza chain would not accept credit cards; especially since pizza is a more expensive (than burger-type stuff) "fast food," it stands to reason that they'd take credit cards (except for Cici's, evidently).

Its okay for what it is: as much shitty pizza as you can stomach, for not a lot of money.

20. yeech, don't like Cici's...

my husband and I tried it about a year ago, and left quite unhappy (we usually are credit card only, too, but happened to have a $10 on hand). Tasted like they'd dumped large quantities of salt and sugar (I HATE SWEET PIZZA!!!) into the pies. Yuk. Probably to disguise the semen taste. ;-)

Just another fast-food-ish place, where already obese and ill-nourished Americans can go to feed their families for very little cash, just like McD's or BK or what have you...
